The Transformation Life Center Mission is to help rehabilitate and transform families and the community in the areas of health, education, and financial empowerment all while rebuilding the community around us. Renay Watkins
Talisha Belk is an executive professional with years of experience in community relations, operations, finance, outreach, and partnership management. She was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Cass Technical High School. In that same year, Talisha was married to her husband Frederick. In 2010, she pursued her bachelor’s degree in Management majoring in Finance from Davenport University. She later enrolled at Central Michigan University to obtain an SAP certification to further her role in the workforce. Talisha has an obsessive love for outreach and serving those in need. Active in various facets of her community, Talisha uses her passion of connecting others to build lasting relationships. She is currently rooted within the community and serves as:
• Executive Director of TLC (Transformation Life Center) with primary focus on grant proposals, fund management and collaborations
• Facilitates multiple monthly workshops with community groups, neighborhood associations and faith-based organizations.
• Serve as liaison with local schools, churches, and community organizations to educate partners on available resources and support.
• Core member of GRAC (Genomic Research Action Council) at Wayne State University and Karmanos Cancer Institute, office of Cancer Health Equity & Community Engagement.
• Advisory board member of Wayne State University’s CURES (Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors) team.
• P20 Cancer Action Council
In 2020, while amid a pandemic - Talisha and her husband Frederick, finished their book, “Routine Maintenance: Beyond the Vows” for married or engaged couples. Talisha loves spending time with family and believes charity starts at home. This year she will celebrate 27 years of marriage and is the proud mother of three beautiful children.
Latrice LeJeune was born and raised in the city of Detroit, a graduate of Cass Tech and Wayne State University. She is a licensed master level social worker and is very passionate about helping others. Latrice loves supporting, engaging, and providing much needed resources to the community.
Melissa Hicks currently works at Karmanos Cancer Institute and loves taking care of people. She been in the healthcare field since 1997. She serves her community & work within Mount Charity Baptist Church on several committees. She has been happily married for 15 years, 3 adult children & a grandmother to 13 grandchildren.
Renay Watkins is the core of her family & loves helping everyone in need. She is a very hard worker and willing to serve others in any capacity. Renay’s heart is big enough for the entire world & she spreads love to the anyone she comes in contact with. She loves family outings and serving in her church.
